UML lawmakers obstruct HoR meeting, next meeting to be held on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Speaker Agni Sapkota has put off the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) for Thursday amids protests of the lawmakers belonging to the CPN-UML. 

Speaker Sapkota read out the details of verification on the ‘appropriation bill 2021’ sent by the President’s office at the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today. The President had ratified the bill on September 23 after it was passed by the upper and lower house. 

Secretary of the HoR, Gopalnath Yogi had informed the message received from the National Assembly regarding the ‘Fiscal Bill 2078’ and the ‘National Debt Raising Bill 2078’.

As in the previous meetings of the HoR, the lawmakers belonging to the main opposition party picketed the rostrum and protested against the Speaker Sapkota. The UML lawmakers have been continuously protesting in the federal parliament against Speaker Sapkota for not taking action against the 14 lawmakers, whom the party had asked to dismiss them from the post of lawmakers. 

The next meeting of the HoR is scheduled for September 30.
