KATHMANDU, July 5: The CPN-UML has informed the Parliament Secretariat that it has withdrawn its support to the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
UML Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bartaula sent a letter to the Parliament Secretariat on July 3 regarding the withdrawal of its support. Bartaula said that the CPN-UML will now assume the role of opposition in parliament.
Bartaula said that the support given to the government has been withdrawn in pursuit of the initiative to form a new government aimed at providing political stability.
