KATHMANDU, Dec 17: The voting process to elect the leadership at the CPN-UML’s 11th General Convention is progressing enthusiastically. Voting began at 9:20 AM, with 80 electronic voting machines in operation.
Each representative takes around half an hour to complete the voting process.
UML to hold district convention on January 7
According to UML Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam, participation among the 2,263 eligible voters has been enthusiastic.
“The voting is progressing in a very positive and orderly manner. Voters have been ensured the right to choose their leaders in a fair and fear-free environment,” Gautam said.
He said the voting process is expected to take more than eight and a half hours to complete. Vote counting will begin immediately after voting concludes, and preparations are in place to announce the final results before 10 PM tonight, he added.
