KATHMANDU, Sept 30: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has boycotted the all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Deuba had called a meeting to discuss issues including ending the stalemate in the parliament.

Although Prime Minister Deuba called a meeting of the political parties represented in the parliament at the Prime Minister's official residence at 10 AM on Thursday, the main opposition party Chairman Oli and UML leaders boycotted the meeting.

The CPN-UML has been saying that it will not attend the meeting as long as the case surrounding the formation of the CPN (Unified Socialist) by recognizing the 14 lawmakers against whom the mother party had taken action is not resolved. The party has alleged that the House Speaker Agni Sapkota had delayed taking action against 14 lawmakers in an apparent bid to help the 14 lawmakers including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal form a new political party.
