According to police, the deceased is Bhuwan Karki, village committee member of UML-affiliated Youth Federation Nepal.
The body of the 23-year-old was found on a rickshaw near Krishna Pradmani Temple at Itahari-4 at 6 am, said Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.
The behind the murder of Karki, whose left chest bore a hole pierced by a bullet, is still unknown.
Police have started an investigation, suspecting that he might have been killed in a different location and was kept in the rickshaw.
