UML Bagmati Province Parliamentary Board to take action against 14 party leaders

KATHMANDU, May 22: The Parliamentary Board of the Bagmati Province Assembly of the ruling CPN-UML has decided to take action against its 14 members of the Province Assembly of Bagmati Province for non-cooperation with the party and the government during the by-election held on May 20.

KATHMANDU, May 22: The Parliamentary Board of the Bagmati Province Assembly of the ruling CPN-UML has decided to take action against its 14 members of the Province Assembly of Bagmati Province for non-cooperation with the party and the government during the by-election held on May 20.

The Province Assembly members were accused of betraying the party and government, registering a no confidence motion, forming a parallel parliamentary party and running parallel activities against  Clause 25 (3) (A, B, C, D and E) of the party parliamentary party, said Dipak Niraula, chief whip of the Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party, the UML. 


The board decided to seek clarifications in this regard from the Province Assembly members in question, he said. The PA members in question include Ashta Laxmi Shakya, Rajendra Pandey, Arun Prasad Nepal, Basundhara Humagain, Laxman Lamsal, Munu Sigdel, Kusum Karki, Mina Gyawali, Shanti Prasad Poudel, Rachana Khadka, Krishna Khanal, Basanta Manandhar, Indra Maya Gurung and Parbati Silwal.
