“There has been no discussion in our party about the dissolution of the current government. If anyone from the party says that the current government would be dissolved, it is only his personal view, not an official decision,” Baidya said while speaking at a function on Wednesday. [break]
“We are in favor of giving continuity to the current government and completing the remaining tasks of the peace process and constitution writing,” he added.
Party leaders say Dahal has spoken is in favor of forming a new coalition after his “suspicious Singapore visit”. The Central Committee of the party had also decided to give continuity to the current government as per the demand of the Baidya faction.
Meanwhile, Baidya has also accused the party chairman of violating the party´s norms while nominating ministers from the party.
Stating that the current coalition doesn´t have 33 percent representation of women, party leader Jayapuri Gharti Magar -- nominated as the minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare -- has refused to take oath of office.
Similarly, Mahendra Pasawan and Dhruba Kumar Limbu from the Baidya camp, also refrained from taking oath of office as ministers saying the party violated the principle of social inclusion.
“The party had decided not to nominate leaders who had lost election for ministerial posts. But the chairman violated the decision. So, the decision not to take an oath by the ministers is correct,” he said.
According to Baidya, it was not ethical of the chairman to send leaders defeated in the election to the government.
“Nominating Hit Bahadur Tamang as the minister for Youth and Sports and Bishwanath Sah as minister for Peace and Reconciliation, both of whom lost the elections, has sent a negative message,” he said.
