Two new Korea overseas volunteers arrive in Nepal
KOICA resumed its volunteer program in Nepal in December 2021 after a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, 27 volunteers have been deployed across various sectors. The orientation program in Lalitpur focuses on Nepal’s culture, society, and language, helping volunteers integrate effectively into local communities.
Launched in 1990, the KOV program aims to share Korean expertise at the grassroots level, enhance the quality of life in partner countries, promote mutual understanding, and support global development goals. To date, 495 KOICA volunteers have served in Nepal in sectors including education, health, agriculture, information technology and tourism.
Currently, 10 KOICA volunteers, including advisors, are serving in government institutions across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Baglung, Kaski, Ilam, and Kailali.
KOICA Nepal said it remains committed to implementing the volunteer program safely and effectively while adhering to health protocols.
