Two more COVID-19 related deaths recorded in Morang district

MORANG, Oct 6: Two more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in Morang district on Tuesday. Both the patients were undergoing treatment at the Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar.

MORANG, Oct 6: Two more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in Morang district on Tuesday. Both the patients were undergoing treatment at the Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar.


According to the hospital, the 45-year-old man of Ratuwamai Municipality-8 and 50-year-old man from Kanepokhari Rural Municipality of Morang district died of COVID-19 at 2:30 am and 3 am, respectively.


“The 50-year-old patient was brought to the hospital on Monday afternoon after he started feeling uneasy due to fever,” said Narayan Dahal, manager of the hospital. He had been suffering from blood cancer for the last five years.

“He was immediately put into isolation for treatment after his PCR report came positive on the same day,” said Dahal. “He died early this morning while undergoing treatment.” 


The 45-year old patient who succumbed to COVID-19 was admitted to the hospital after he tested positive on September 30. The patient was being treated in an isolation ward. “The patient of diabetes suffered from fever, pneumonia and typhoid,” Dahal further said. 


A total of 34 COVID-19 infected patients are being treated in the isolation ward of COVID-19 at Nobel Medical College.


Additionally, a 64-year-old man also succumbed to COVID-19 at BP Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKIHS) earlier on Tuesday.  With this, three deaths have been recorded in Province 1 this morning.
