Two inspectors involved in gold smuggling investigation recalled to CIB

KATHMANDU, March 26: After the Gold Smuggling Probe Commission concluded that there were errors in the investigation into the gold smuggling case, the officers working in the CIB, the police office leading the investigations, were transferred. However, despite being involved in the investigation of gold smuggling and transferred elsewhere for the same, two inspectors have been recalled to the CIB.

The Nepal Police Headquarters has returned inspectors Raju Adhikari and Gajendra Rawal to the CIB.

Previously stationed at the Valley Crime Investigation Office, they were actively involved in investigating the smuggling of 60.716 kg of gold.

Inspector Adhikari carried out the economic analysis and Inspector Gajendra Rawal the technical analysis of the illegal gold smuggling and organized crime. They were recalled to the CIB after the investigation was over.

Four CIB inspectors who investigated the gold smuggling case have been transferred from there. Earlier, Wakil Singh was reassigned to Nepal Police Battalion-1, while Inspector Krishna Shrestha was transferred to the Police Security Battalion.

Similarly, Sub Inspector Bibek Dhungana, Assistant Sub Inspector Inkar Oli and Police Head Constable Laxman Sapkota working in the CIB were also transferred to other police offices and units.
