BIRATNAGAR, March 29: Two people were injured when an improvised explosive device went off at Nawajagriti Tol of Itahari Sub-metropolis-2 at around 10PM on Monday.
According to Khagendra Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Area Police Office, Itahari, 22-year-old Rabin Thapa and 23-year-old Sher Jung Gurung of Itahari Sub-Metropolis-2 Nawajagriti Tol were injured in the explosion.
Khadka said that the IED had exploded at Thapa's house. Thapa, who was injured in the blast, has been admitted to Biratnagar Eye Hospital while Gurung is admitted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
Similarly, police said that a leaflet of Congruent Front of Nepal (CFN) was recovered from the explosion site. Police suspect that those injured in the blast are CFN cadres. Gurung had visited Thapa's residence a few days ago.
