Two girls found dead in a pit dug by brick kiln

SARLAHI, April 12: Two minor girls were found dead in a water-filled pit dug by a brick factory in Harion Municipality-4, of Sarlahi district on Tuesday.

SARLAHI, April 12: Two minor girls were found dead in a water-filled pit dug by a brick factory in Harion Municipality-4, of Sarlahi district on Tuesday.


The deceased have been identified as a local Jumer Shekh's six-year-old daughter Samar Khatun and Intihaj Shekh's nine-year-old daughter Jasmine Khatun, according to Area Police Office, Harion. Local Nagendra Chaudhary owns the brick factory.

As the children remained missing for the whole day, the family members went to search for them. The workers in the factory found the bodies of the girls floating in the pit and reported to police.


Their bodies were brought to the District Hospital in headquarters Malangawa at around 11 pm for postmortem. Reportedly, the pit was dug up to take out mud for making bricks. Police has expedited investigation into the case.
