Two elderly die of COVID-19 in Dharan

DHARAN, Oct 12: Two elderly who earlier had tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City have died.

DHARAN, Oct 12: Two elderly who earlier had tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City have died.

An 89-year-old male from Dharan-2 who tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday died while undergoing treatment at COVID-19 Special Hospital at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan on Sunday night, according to Dr Ashish Shrestha, the assistant spokesperson for the hospital. The man died on the same day after being admitted to the hospital. The deceased was also a hypertension patient.


Likewise, a septuagenarian from Dharan-15 who was staying isolated at his home died on Monday morning. According to Naresh Iwaram, the ward chair of Dharan-15, the elderly had tested positive for COVID-19 last week during a polymerase chain reaction test conducted at BPKIHS. Then he went into home isolation. A squad of Nepali Army is disposing of his body as per the COVID-19 protocols.
