Two DIGs at Nepal Police Hospital in Kathmandu test positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Two Deputy inspectors general (DIGs) at Nepal Police Hospital in Maharajgunj tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, confirmed a high-ranking police officer.

“Two DIGs at Nepal Police Hospital have tested positive. At least 35 staffers at the hospital have already tested positive for COVID-19,” Kuber Kadayat, spokesperson for Nepal Police, told Republica.


Likewise, at least 30 police personnel at the Ranipokhari Metropolitan Police Office also tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.


According to Nepal Police Headquarters, more than 150 police personnel have tested positive for novel coronavirus as of now.
