Two die in Myagdi jeep accident

MYAGDI, Nov 1: Two people died in a jeep accident in Malika Rural municipality-1, Rum on Friday afternoon.

The ill-fated jeep (Dha1Ja598) en route to Rum from Darbang bazaar met with the accident at Aasan of Darakha, near Bilbang.

Of the two deceased, one has been identified as Sak Bahadur BK of Malika-2, informed Police Inspector at District Police Office Dhruba Prasad Sharma.  

According to Inspector Sharma, 15 passengers who were inside the jeep during the accident remained unharmed. Three people who were on the jeep-roof skidded off the roadside. One of them was stuck in a tree and found safe.

Santosh Subedi, the ward chairperson of Malika-6, one of the eyewitnesses of the incident, said that accident occurred as the jeep couldn't go uphill and slipped backward. 

A police team from Darbang based Area Police Station, Redcross volunteers, people's representatives, and local people carried out the rescue operations.
