KATHMANDU, July 24: Police have arrested two persons for throwing acid on a 22-year-old woman at Sitapaila in Kathmandu on Thursday evening.
According to Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, they were arrested from Dallu area in the capital at 11PM, couple of hours after they attacked the woman with acid. The victim has been identified as Pabitra Karki of Okhaldhunga.
Those arrested are namely Mohammad Alam of Rautahat district and Indian national Munna Mohammad.
The duo attacked her with acid when she came to a retail store to buy some grocery items.
“The victim has injuries on her face. She has been admitted to Kirtipur Hospital for treatment,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Lal Gyawali, who is the chief of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu, told Republica. “The health condition of the victim is stable,” Gyawali further said.
