KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday declined 13.52 points to close at 2,631.17 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,644.70 points and initially surged to the day’s high at 2,658.45 points in the first 27 minutes. The index slid by around 10 points in the next half an hour, while it gradually declined to reach the day’s low at 2,623.26 points in the last four minutes. The market recovered around eight points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
Finance added 36.86 points and led the gainers’ lists as hotels and tourism, manufacturing and processing, and mutual funds gained 36.69 points, 20.08 points and 0.08 points, respectively. Of the nine losers, life insurance plunged by the largest of 157.96 points.
Among the individual companies, 74 were gainers while 177 were recorded as losers. Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 184.97 million.
Samling Power Company Limited witnessed the highest fall of 2.85 percent of its market price. Three companies including Sagar Distillery Limited, Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Jhapa Energy Limited were the topmost gainers of 10 percent.
