KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday increased 14.81 points to close at 2,080.86 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,066.05 points, jumped to 2,071.56 points in the first five minutes and plunged to the day’s low at 2,057.91 points in the next half an hour. In the next moment, the market went into an upward graph to hit the day’s high at 2,087.68 points, while it shed around seven points again in the last one and a half hours to close for the day.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Along with the overall index, the sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies added 3.91 points. The daily turnover notably inclined to Rs 3.018 billion from Rs 2.156 billion on Thursday.
Four out of 13 trading groups lost in their market values. Microfinance shed 13.55 points, which was followed by manufacturing and processing, finance and ‘others.’ Of the gainers, non-life insurance gained the highest of 241.57 points, while hotels and tourism index added the three-digit mark of 107.50 points.
Among individual companies, the market values of 102 companies inclined up. A total of 118 companies were recorded as losers.
Nepal Insurance Co Ltd Promoter Share, with turnover of Rs 584.561 million, topped in terms of transaction volume. Three Star Hydropower Limited was the topmost gainer, while Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited lost the highest of 9.99 percent of its market price.
