TU forms task force to study damage to physical infrastructure

KATHMANDU, April 30: The Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering has constituted a taskforce to assess the damage to the physical properties caused by the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Saturday and Sunday and the aftershocks.

The task force has been formed to study the real situation of the damage caused by the quake as various buildings under the TU and other government and private houses and structures have suffered damage.The 18-member taskforce is coordinated by Prof Dr Gokarna Bahadur Motra. Prof Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Prof Padam Khadka, Prof Sudha Shrestha, Reader Hari Darshan Shrestha and Reader Narendra Sitaula are among the members of the task force.

The taskforce will carry out a study of the damaged buildings of the University and the government as well as the private houses and structures, including the overall physical damage throughout the country starting from today. The task force will also make recommendations to the government after carrying out its study, Motra added. RSS
