TU discusses with valley campus chiefs on FSU election

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: The Tribhuvan University (TU) held discussion with chiefs of the campuses of Kathmandu Valley regarding the preparation of Free Students' Union (FSU) election taking place from coming February 25.

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: The Tribhuvan University (TU) held discussion with chiefs of the campuses of Kathmandu Valley regarding the preparation of Free Students' Union (FSU) election taking place from coming February 25. 


Discussion was held with chiefs of 20 campuses of the Valley on Tuesday on conducting FSU election in an effective manner, shared TU Registrar Dilli Prasad Uprety.

On the occasion, some campus chiefs viewed that it was not possible to conduct FSU polls with the campuses being padlocked in protest of some election provisions. 


However, the TU administration has assured the campus chiefs to create environment for FSU polls after holding discussion with the government, political parties and student organizations, Uprety shared. 


The FSU election process had started on February 12. As of now, the process has initiated in 35 out of 60 campuses of the TU, he further informed. 


According to the election process, the candidacy paper is being distributed from today. The TU is conducting FSU election after eight years adopting mixed electoral system. RSS
