In the letter, Bhandari describes the harrowing experiences faced by him and fellow students. “We had seen birds flying in the sky; today we are witnessing fighter planes and missiles in the sky. We who would enjoy the bursting of firecrackers in Tihar today find ourselves confronted with the terrifying sounds of gunfire and explosions,” he writes in the letter, expressing profound fear.
Bhandari emphasizes their trust and hope for the future lies with the Prime Minister and implores, “At this critical juncture, you are our hope and our trust is in you. We do not want to lose our lives in the war between these two countries. Create an environment for us to return to our country; we will be happy in the country.”
