KANCHANPUR, July 12: The indefinite transport strike called by the far-western regional committee of the Federation of Nepal Transportation National Entrepreneurs continues on Tuesday.

The committee called the strike, demanding scrapping of a new transportation committee named Dadeldhura Public Transport committee, registered at the District Administration Office (DAO), Dadeldhura four days ago.[break]

Regional coordinator of the Federation Hom Bahadur Kunwar has accused the DAO of thrashing, torturing and misbehaving with transport workers instead of taking measures to resolve problems surfaced after the registration of the new transportation committee.

Kunwar further said they would not withdraw the strike until the registration of the new transportation committee was scrapped and medical treatment provided to the injured workers.
