KATHMANDU, June 2: Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal expressed discontent over the continued halt in public transportation despite an agreement reached with transport entrepreneurs the previous night.

Speaking at the Infrastructure Development Committee meeting on Tuesday, Minister Dahal said a mutual understanding had been reached for the resumption of services starting today, particularly in Gandaki Province. “The strike shouldn't have continued after the agreement. The current halt is unjustified,” he said.

Minister Dahal also said that the ongoing bill concerning public transport management aims to bring ride-sharing services under state regulation. “People are benefiting from ride-sharing. But regulation is necessary—it needs to be brought under the legal framework,” he added.
