“We need 10 more professionals in the next couple of months,” said Mike Koenigs, founder and co-owner of the San Diego based company. Koenigs, one of the leading internet marketeers in the world, set up the multi-mullion dollar web syndication service in 2007.
Talking to Republica, Koenigs said passion, dedication and creativity of young Nepali IT professionals attracted him to open Traffic Geyser´s branch in Nepal. “I have got great results working with Nepali and every time I feel so encouraged,” he said. He expressed hope that the company will provide more job opportunities in IT sector and at the same time help national economy by earning foreign currency. “We want to prevent brain drain of IT professionals from Nepal in the coming days,” he added.
Besides bringing more job opportunities, Traffic Geyser is also introducing new corporate culture in Nepal. Sudesh GC, CEO of Traffic Geyser Nepal, informed that the company will try to provide friendly, flexible and casual working environment where the focus will be on having fun while working rather than just focusing on meeting the deadline.
“Employees don´t need to work here from nine to five or any fixed hours, they can work in their style as what matters for us is the output,” he added.
GC said the company´s colorful interiors of bright orange and light purple are designed to give a friendly vibe at the workplace.
The company is planning to install video games consoles and foosball table in order to kill monotony at workplace.
Subrat Basnet, chief technical officer of Traffic Geyser Nepal, said working environment like this helps in increasing creativity. “We don´t want academic certificates. What is more important for work is passion and commitment for work along with innovative mind,” Basnet added.
The company has already spent $35,000 to set up its office at Gairidhara.
Traffic Geyser Nepal will provide software development support for the parent company and its market leading video syndication service. GC said the parent company will assign jobs to the Nepal branch and IT professionals will directly deliver the product to the parent company.
