TAPLEJUNG, Oct 14: Import of sheep and goats from Tibet to the Taplejung district headquarters has been affected as the road linking Tibet and Taplejung remains damaged at Olangchungola due to heavy rains.

“There is no way one can walk through that trail and bringing sheep and goats is just out of question,” said Dananumu Lama, a local trader.[break]

Another trader Chheten Dandu Sherpa informed that couldn´t rely on a dilapidated wooden bridge at Sukhepani village for bringing the animals and traveling through the main road was impossible.

“Fungling bazaar in Taplejung district headquarters, which is near from Pachthar and Terhathum districts, was best place for selling goats and sheep but this year our trade is limited to upper part of Taplejung due to road obstruction,” said Chetan.
