Trade unions demand salary hike

BIRATNAGAR, April 5: Different six trade union organizations including the GeFONT have demanded that the salary of workers and other staffs should be increased.



During the press conference organized jointly by the trade union organizations, the unions warned of disrupting the industrial activities if the bodies concerned turned deaf ears towards their demands.[break]



Koshi Zonal Chief of GeFONT, Kul Bahadur Khatri, said they would declare the protest programme with ultimatum from May 28 if the global provision of pay commission for the increase of salary was not followed.



The trade unions, which warned of protest, are Nepal Trade Union Congress, General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions, Nepal Trade Union, Workers Association Forum, Madhesi Democratic Trade Union, and All Nepal Trade Union.
