KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Six student unions have announced to continue with their protests against the government’s decision to hike the prices of petroleum products.
The six students unions have also handed over a memorandum to the Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies demanding immediate withdrawal of the hike made in the prices of petroleum products.

Leaders of Nepal Student Union, ANNISU (Revolutionary), ANNFSU, Socialist Student Union and Akhil Sixth jointly submitted the memorandum.
“The attention of the United Students' Organization has been drawn to the fact that the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has become irresponsible towards the basic needs of the people by increasing the prices of petrol by Rs 3, diesel by Rs 3, kerosene by Rs 3, aviation fuel by Rs 5 and LPG by Rs 75 within 12 days period,” reads the joint memorandum submitted by the students unions.
Students Unions have warned the General Manager of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and other employees that they will not be allowed to enter the office and will display empty cylinders if the price hike of petroleum products is not withdrawn. The agitating students unions have also stated that they will hold a protest with a black banner at the offices of the NOC across the country.
