Toyota unveils new Avanza

KATHMANDU, March 21: The new Avanza - a mini multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) - has rolled in the city. United Traders Syndicate that represents Toyota in Nepal introduced the seven-seat vehicle amid a program on Wednesday.



Kailash Rajbhandari, deputy manager of United Traders Syndicate, said the new Avanza is more elegant than its predecessor and sports new exterior design. Besides, the cabin and luggage area is also better than the old model.[break]



“It has sliding seats in the second row that can be adjusted 60 mm forward or backward just by a pull of the lever under the seat. It allows convenient legroom for third row passenger,” a statement said.



It also has ceiling- integrated double-blower AC as a standard feature.



The new generation Avanza features an inline 4- cylinder 1,298 cc and 1,495 cc VVTI 16 V DOHC engine. It comes in two options: 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission. It has three fixed beam steering wheel and taillights with new design.







The vehicle also comes with unique safety measures. The new MPV has a parking sensor with a rear reflector. It has child protection feature at the rear door to protect the children from unexpected circumstances. Besides, the vehicle also has standard Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS). It is available in six attractive colors.



Drive-In Company is marketing the new Toyota Avanza. It is also providing exchange facility for the buyers. Price of the new Avanza starts from Rs 3.99 million.



“We have targeted to sell 100 units in the first year of its launch,” said Rajbhandari.



The company is also planning to introduce Etios Liva in the Nepali market within June.
