KATHMANDU, March 6: Tourist Police have handed over the goods recovered from three looers, who robbed the goods from an Indian tourist, to the rightful owner.

The police gave back INR 10,000, NRs 2,500 and a mobile set to Sunil Mistri who had come to Nepal from Ambika Pharma in India.

According to Tourist Police Inspector Bharat Lama, Mistri was robbed in the evening of March 5 in Samakhushi. Mistri was taken to Samakhushi by three looters in a taxi after having dinner at Angan Restaurant at New Road.

Among the looters, one was arrested while the two are still absconding, Lama said.

Mistri had tricked the looters to come to Hotel Marsyangdi at Thamel where he was lodged by promising them more money. Upon reaching the hotel, he called the police and helped them to nab one of the looters even though the two managed to escape.

The recovered money and goods were returned to Mistri in the presence of Sharad Pradhan, Media Advisor of Nepal Tourism Board, Tourist Inspector Lama and Police Inspector at Samakhushi Police Range Rugam Kunwar on Saturday.
