Tourism Minister Shrestha leaves for Canada

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha has left for Canada to participate in the 41st International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) General Assembly.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha has left for Canada to participate in the 41st International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) General Assembly. 


Ministers and high-ranking officials from 193 countries will participate in the General Assembly starting tomorrow in Montreal, Canada.

At the conference, Minister Shrestha will inform the world community about Nepal's efforts in enhancing its aviation security capabilities. He will also inform the General Assembly about the achievements of Nepal in the field of aviation, including the expansion of air connectivity, airport upgrading and construction of a new airport.


In the General Assembly, there will be discussions on aviation policy, strategy and problem solving in this field including environmental protection, aviation safety and facilitation, aviation capacity and efficiency enhancement as well as air transport and economic development. The General Assembly will continue till October 7.
