Also, central member of the NC-affiliated Nepal Tarun Dal Purna Bahadur Gurung has fielded his candidacy alongside NC Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel in constituency number 2 of Tanahun district.
Similarly, Suprabha Ghimire, who announced having quit NC after being denied election ticket, filed her candidacy alongside popular youth leader Gagan Thapa in constituency number 4 of Kathmandu district. Also, local party leader Ganesh Kumar KC fielded rebel candidacy in competition against the party´s official candidate Udaya SJB Rana in constituency number 1 in Lalitpur.
Likewise, rebel candidates of NC filed candidacies in Dhading, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Bajura, Khotang and Nawalparasi districts. NC leaders said the filing of rebel candidacies in a large number of districts showed that there is huge dissatisfaction among party leaders in the district over the selection of candidates and the party leadership needs to settle the problem at the earliest to ensure victory of the party.
The UCPN (Maoist) is also no exception to seeing rebel candidates in various constituencies across the countries.
Former YCL cadre Padam Kunwar, who came into limelight after slapping on the face of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, fielded rebel candidacy in competition against Dahal in constituency number 10 of Kathmandu district.
Likewise, the UCPN (Maoist) Madhes-in-charge Ram Chandra Jha also saw rebel candidacy filed in his constituency by Maoist central member Shrawan Yadav. Former CPN-UML leader Jha had a few months ago defected to the UCPN (Maoist).
Similary, local party leader Gagan Singh fielded rebel candidacy alongside the party´s official candidate Bina Magar in the constituency number 1 of Kanchanpur district, YCL district committee member Ganesh Tamang is contesting alongside the party´s official candidate Ganesh Regmi in constituency number 3 of Kathmandu district; Janak Thapa alongside official candidate Saroj Dangol in constituency number 2 in Lalitpur and Tej Prasad Gautam filed rebel candidacy in competition against Surya Man Dong in constituency number 1 of Kavrepalanchowk district.
Also, Indra Gotame has filed rebel candidacy alongside the party´s candidate Prem Tamang in constituency number 1 in Rasuwa district and Bhim Prasad Devkota Losi fielded rebel candidacy alongside Maheshwar Gahatraj Athak in constituency in Banke-1.
However, CPN-UML has seen only a few rebel candidates. While the party´s Surkhet district committee vice-chairman Shiva Prasad Pandey fielded candidacy alongside the official UML candidate Yam Lal Kandel in constituency number 2 in Surkhet, Jagrit Prasad Bhetwal, who was preparing to field rebel candidacy alongside Surendra Pandey in Chitwan constituency number 3, withdrew his plan.
