A meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee of the TMDP on Saturday decided to launch protest from January 12.

The TMDP has called for peaceful protests in all Tarai districts on January 13. Similarly, it plans to stage a sit-in in front of the district administration offices in all Tarai districts on January 16.
The party has decided to organize functions commemorating the death of all martyrs of the Tarai movement including Ramesh Mahato on January 18.
Similarly, the party plans to stage sit ins and demonstrations at branch offices of Nepal Electricity Authority in all Tarai districts to protest the load-shedding.
Speaking at the press meet, TMDP Spokesperson Sarvendra Nath Shukla said, “Our protest is not to change the government."
Asked, if the TMDP will invite Madhesi Peoples´ Rights Forum (MPRF), a ruling party, to join its protests, Shukla said, "A Tarai-based political party must quit the government if it wants to forge an alliance of all Tarai-based parties.” He said no Tarai-based political party can sincerely address the problems of the Tarai people while staying in the government.
