PARSA, Dec 21: Tarai-Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP) Spokesperson Bimal Prasad Shreevastav has urged the major opposition CPN-UML to come on board for bringing into effect the new constitution.
UML, including various fringe parties, have been disrupting parliamentary proceedings since the constitution amendment bill was registered at the Legislature-Parliament on November 29 seeking to address the concerns of Madhes-centric political parties.
TMDP demands govt’s formal view on constitution amendment
At a press conference organized by the party at Parsa in Birgunj today, spokesperson Shreevastav stated that it was inappropriate to keep the country hostage of political indecisiveness.
Insisting that the UML should put an end to disruption of House, he argued, "It is also the responsibility of the opposition to provide outlet to the crisis-hit country."
Shreevastav asserted that the constitution implementation process would be further challenging if the disruption in the House is continued and if all three levels of elections were not held within the stipulated time.
