KATHMANDU, Dec 5: TikTok, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT), organized a Digital Safety Summit Nepal on December 3, 2024. The summit, aimed at promoting online safety and digital literacy, brought together government officials, educators, child safety advocates, and industry leaders.
According to a press release issued by the organizers, key discussions focused on digital safety tools, such as TikTok's Family Pairing, and the importance of creating a secure online environment. TikTok's Public Policy Head for South Asia, Ferdous Mottakin, emphasized the company’s commitment to protecting users, especially children and youth. MoCIT Spokesperson Gajendra Thakur reaffirmed the government's commitment to a safer digital space for Nepal’s youth.
