Ticket booking for long-route passenger vehicles goes digital at Gongabu-based New Bus Park

Some 54 companies of long-distance passenger buses destined to provinces 1 and 2 have already initiated online ticket booking service


KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The Gongabu-based New Bus Park has begun distributing tickets and resumed ticket booking service through digital means from Thursday.

The move came in wake of the government decision to allow long-distance passenger vehicles to operate after a hiatus of six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


The Council of Ministers decided to allow long-distance and public passenger vehicles to resume their services from Sept 17.


According to chairman of Lotshe Multipurpose Private Limited, Dipak Kuwar, responsible for the administration of the Bus Park, the ticket booking and distribution service has gone digital in a bid to curb the transmission of COVID-19 virus.


The management looks forward to introducing an online app in the coming days for ticket booking and distribution at the earliest.


In the meantime, some 54 companies of long-distance passenger vehicles destined to provinces 1 and 2 have already initiated online ticket booking. The passengers of Taplejung, Sankuwasaba, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Sunsari, Jhapa, Morang, Terathum, Udayapur, Siraha and Saptari have benefited from this initiative.
