SINDHULI, June 2: A jeep has plunged into the Sunkoshi river at Lukun along the Mid-hill highway in Golanjor Rural Municipality-7 in Sindhuli today. Three passengers have gone missing in the mishap.
Deputy Superintendent Chiranjibi Dahal at the District Police Office, Sindhuli said the jeep (Ba 1 Jha 7467) carrying employees of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) was heading towards Khotang from Kathmandu.
It is said that four people were on board the ill-fated jeep. While the driver managed to come out of the river safely, the condition of three others is unknown, Dahal said. Their identity is not yet ascertained.
DSP Dahal said a police team has been sent from the district to carry out a search and rescue operation for the missing persons.
