The incident took place when a TATA Sumo vehicle (Na 2 Cha 2186) carrying Nepali Congress (NC) Mahasamiti members hit a stationary truck (Na 2 Kha 1216) at Lalgadh along the East-West Highway.[break]
The deceased have been identified as Anup Bachhar Chaudhary, 65, of Dharmapur VDC, Himalaya Adhikari,40, and Basu Dev Shah of Bhaga VDC of the district, Nakkajij Armed Police Force DSP Raj Kumar Shrestha informed. All the deceased have been identified as the NC Mahasamiti members and they were on their way to home after taking part in Mahsamiti meeting being held at Tribeni, Nawalparasi district.
The incident took place at around 4 am today. Among the deceased, one died on the spot whereas other two breathed their last on their way to hospital.
There were eight people in the vehicle at the time of incident. The injured has been sent to Janakpur Zonal Hospital for the treatment, Mahendra Kumar Raya, NC Mahottari president informed.
