Three more people succumbed to COVID-19 in Nepal

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 63

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: Three more Coronavirus (COVID-19) related deaths have been recorded in Nepal on Wednesday.

A 65-year old woman of Malangawa, Sarlahi-6 died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Armed Police Force (APF) Hospital in Kathmandu. She was admitted to the hospital on July 31 after she suffered from pneumonia and scrub typhus.

Similarly, two others died of COVID-19 in Morang district on Wednesday. While one of them was undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital, the other one breathed his last while being rushed to the same hospital for further treatment.

A 45-year old man from Biratnagar-9 died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at an isolation center. He was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after he complained of fever and jaundice related problems. 

After suspecting COVID-19 infection, his swab samples were collected. He was subsequently tested positive for the COVID-19, according to medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Chuman Lal Das.

A 45-year old man of Rangeli Municipality-8 also succumbed to COVID-19 on the same day. After witnessing COVID-19 symptoms, he was taken to the Koshi Hospital for further check-up and treatment. His swab samples were tested positive for COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday reported two new cases COVID-19 death in Parsa district. An 18-year old female and a 46-year old male died of COVID-19 in the district. With this, 63 people have died of COVID-19 in Nepal so far.
