BUTWAL, Oct 11: Three more people died of COVID-19 in Rupandehi last night.
According to Dr Bishnu Gautam, information officer at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal, a 61-year old woman from Butwal-11 died at COVID-19 Special Hospital, at 2 AM. Doctors involved in her treatment said the woman had respiratory problems but had no other chronic illness.

A 70-year old man from Butwal-1 also died at the COVID-19 Hospital last night. He was undergoing treatment in the ICU for pneumonia and respiratory problems. He had been shifted to ICU only on Saturday due to lack of ICU beds in the hospital.
According to Dr Gautam, an 84-year old man of Butwal died on the way to Dang for treatment. He was shifted to COVID-19 Special Hospital at Beljhundi, Dang for treatment as beds were not available at Butwal hospital. The patient was rushed to Dang after his condition became critical and he needed ICU and ventilator support immediately. He breathed his last at Dhankhola of Kapilvastu.
With this, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection in Rupandehi has soared to 37.
