SINDHULI, June 2: Police have identified the three individuals who went missing after a jeep plunged into the Sunkoshi river on Friday.
A Scorpio jeep (BA 1 Jha 7467) carrying four passengers including driver, en route to Khotang from Kathmandu, veered off the road and fell into the river at Naukun Navaghat in Golanjor Rural Municipality-7, Sindhuli district.
The ill-fated vehicle sank approximately 150 meters into the river. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chiranjibi Dahal confirmed that the driver, Krishna Chaudhary from Rapti Rural Municipality-6 in Dang district, managed to swim to safety and survived the incident.

However, the other three passengers are still missing. The missing individuals have been identified as Joint Secretary Krishna Bahadur KC, who serves as the Director of the Administration Section at the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. He is originally from Bhanu Municipality-9 in Tanahun district.
The second missing person is Yam Prasad Ghurtel, the Director of the Planning Division from Pragati Municipality-7 in East Nawalparasi. The third missing person is Bhanu Paudel, an electrical trainee from Ilam district.
The driver, Chaudhary, who sustained injuries to his mouth and hands, is currently receiving medical treatment at Shuvajivan Hospital in Khurkot, according to the police.
The search and rescue operations are being carried out to locate the missing individuals, according to SP Dahal.
