"I was near the gate when a Hindi speaking man suddenly asked for the bag with money. I couldn´t retaliate as he put the pistol on my stomach and threatened to kill me if I didn´t oblige," said Sanju after reaching the Area Police Office.

He said the man had got off a black Splendor motorcycle ridden by another person.

Eyewitnesses said the duo fled toward the north along Amarpath after snatching the bag on the motorcycle. The place where the incident occurred is the busiest place in Butwal.

The proprietor of Goenka Steels, Arun Goenka, said the amount was collected from different hardware stores in Butwal. Police conducted a massive search sealing all entry and exit points of Butwal but to no avail. Police estimated involvement of a known group in the incident as the man spoke Hindi while asking for the bag from Sanju, who doesn´t speak Nepali.
