Three Madhesi parties object to NC, UML decision on cabinet

KATHMANDU, June 14: Three Madhesi parties – Gachchhadar faction of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF), Tarai Madhes Democratic Party and Sadbhawana Party – have objected to the unilateral decision of Nepali Congress and Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) to finalize the number and names of ministerial berths on Saturday.



In a meeting held at TMDP´s parliamentary party office in Singh Durbar on Sunday afternoon, the three coalition partners decided to express their disagreement over the decision with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, according to MPRF central member Upendra Jha. [break]



Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Rameshwar Raya Yadav, Jitendra Dev, Upendra Jha of the MPRF, Mahantha Thakur, Jitendra Sonal, Ram Kumar Sharma of TMDP and Rajendra Mahato and Anil Jha of the SP, among others, had participated the meeting that lasted for about one and half hour.



Sources said the three parties, united under United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), also forged strategy to hold negotiation with the prime minister over ministerial portfolios during the meeting.



The parties are scheduled to start negotiation with the UML shortly.
