Three injured in microbus-taxi collision

KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Three people were injured when a microbus and a taxi collided at Maitighar Mandala Chowk in Kathmandu on Friday morning.



The accident occurred when a microbus, Ba 2 Kha 2830, heading to Maitighar from Singha Durbar rammed a taxi, Ba 1 Ja 4825, bound for Anamnagar from Thapathali direction.



The injured have been identified as taxi driver Kiran Chaudhary,30, of Sitapaila and passengers Srijana Shrestha, 18, and Susmita Joshi of Kalimai, said Metropolitan Traffic Police Office.



The victims have been hospitalized at Maitighar-based Annapurna Neurological Institute.



The condition of Srijana and Sushmita is said to be critical.



Police have taken both the microbus and taxi under control while the microbus driver is absconding.
