CHITWAN, Jan 2: Four temples in Kalika Municipality-2 of East Chitwan have been robbed. The robbery took place on the temple premises on Saturday night.
According to the Dhampur Police Post, cash was stolen from the donation boxes at the Kalpeshwar Mahadev Temple, Bighneshwar Ganesh, Radhakrishna and Siddhidata Bhagwati temples. Chief of the Police office, Assistant Inspector of Police Uday KC said that about Rs 10,000 in cash from the donation box as well as other goods were stolen.
According to him, the theft was conducted by a group of five to seven people. The idols and other materials in the temple are safe. Judging by the nature of the incident, it is estimated that it was done for money.
