KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Over the last two months, K-town has been abuzz with events; Kathmanduites have been basking under some noteworthy international performances, case in point, the recently concluded Himalayan Blues festival and Jazzmandu.

And for those who have gotten used to such world-class acts, Kgarira.com gives you one more reason to party in December.[break]

There’s no such thing as “too much of a good thing,” and the word is out that the sensational Dub FX is coming to the town.

On the occasion of Kgarira.com’s first anniversary and World AIDS day, they will be hosting a performance by Hip Hop and Beat Box Maestro – DUB FX.

Benjamin Stanford a.k.a. Dub FX is a worldwide street performer and studio artist hailing from St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia. Renowned for creating live music using only his vocals, aided by live looping and effect pedals, he has a fan following that harbors in millions.

“He might not be a familiar name in this part of the continent but one listen makes it evident why he his so popular; why he has garnered millions of hits and thousands of comments on YouTube videos,” shares Nischal Bajracharya, events, promotion and artist coordinator at Kgarira.com.

More than a YouTube phenomenon, Stanford recently beat boxed to a crowd of 150,000 people at Woodstock, Poland, and has played all over the world; such is the demand of this street-loop-beat boxer from Oz.

Bajracharya says that as music promoters, they are always looking to diversify and on a look out for new ideas and events. “Commercial aspect is there but our agenda is more than minting profit. It is to bring revolution in the way events and concerts are being organized,” he adds.

The philosophy of the organization reflects in the past events, be it the first ever world tattoo convention, which is slated to commence April 22, 2011 with international attendance, or the Universal Religion Mountain Madness, an open air party.

So keep an open mind and go experience the beat patrol and his music, dub step; the intricate merging of hip-hop, reggae and drum and bass rhythms. The concert will also be accompanied by other Nepali bands.

Through the event the organizers also aim to spread the message of practicing safe and protected sex.

In association with Digital Om Productions, “Kgarira Festival Dub FX Live” will see the beat master at 1905, Kantipath on December 1, from 7 pm onwards.
