If you are a book fanatic or a movie addict, you know how precious stories are. They are the lifeline of the entire movie. It’s what makes good movies. Be it Quentin Tarantino’s violence films or Wes Anderson’s fast-paced comedies, both the movies' common ground: their stories!
Bishal Dotel is the newest inductee in the club of young and rising Nepali directors. The dynamic director recently worked as an assistant director in ‘Bulbul’. Apart from working in movies, he is also a theater artist. He says he worked in theatres to better understand the actors. “I thought I needed to work with big stars. So with a straight head, I decided to do theatre as preparation to work in films. It was a good experience though,” he adds.

Like most of the movies enthusiasts, Dotel also experiences a lack of respect in Nepali movies. He says, “Most of the people don’t even know what movies are. That hurt us the most.”
Dotel considers ‘Saving Private Ryan’, ‘The Prestige’, and ‘Life of Pi’ as the motivation that led him to make films. He also wishes to be on a set of Marvel movies.
