Thapa reelected red cross society chair

DHANGADHI, April 13: Sanjiv Thapa has been reelected the Chairman of Nepal Red Cross Society through the recent central convention.

It is the third time Thapa is elected Chairman of the Society. The new stint is of four years.


The members of the Society are yet to be elected. A total of 46 persons have filed candidacies for the membership against 22 quotas.

The convention passed various proposals including the launching of blood transfusion and ambulance service, disaster response, efforts for collaboration with government, promotion of peace.

The convention also awarded Parsa, Kaski and Chitwan districts for their effective Red Cross activities last year. RSS
