Democratic Socialist Party keen to join the government
KATHMANDU, August 24: Mahantha Thakur-led Democratic Socialist Party has expressed commitment to support Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Chairman of the Democratic Socialist Party Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Matho, Sharat Singh Bhandari and other leaders called on PM Deuba on Monday and expressed their commitment to support Deuba’s government.

The top leaders of the newly-formed party have also expressed interest in joining the government.
“On the occasion, we also reminded PM Deuba of the Tikapur incident but did not hold solid discussions on joining the government”, said Sharat Singh Bhandari, a senior leader of the party.
On his part, PM Deuba vowed to fulfill our demands, said Uma Shankar Argaiya.
Following the issuance of the ‘party-split’ ordinance, the splinter faction of Janata Samajbadi Party-led by Thakur has filed an application at the Election Commission (EC) to register a new political party named Democratic Socialist Party.
