May 3: Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has formed a six-member team of experts to conduct technical study of proposed sites for alternative airport in Kavre.
The team has been given 15 days to submit its report. The team has aviation experts Kamal Kumar KC, Dhrubadas Bhochhibhoya, Baburam Poudyal, Suvarna Upadhyaya, Sitaram Bhandari and Nal Bikram Thapa as members. Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari made three site visits in Kavre on Tuesday to scout suitable locations to build the alternative airport.
According to a statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday, the team will be studying technical aspects of the airport. The team has also been asked to study the demands of public, costs and other requirements. The technical team has been asked to study all three proposed sites -- Nagi Danda, Thulichaur and Chisapani Thulichaur.
