KATHMANDU, March 2: Police have arrested a person on the charge of raping a 20-year-old girl working in a night club in Durbarmarg.
The arrested person has been identified as 58-year-old Padam Ghyamcho Tamang, a native of Sindhupalchok and living in Gokarneshwor Municipality-6.
According to District Police Range, Kathmandu, the arrested Tamang is a taxi driver. The District Court, Kathmandu has remanded him to judicial custody for investigation on Friday.

Deepak Bahadur Shrestha, 29 of Kavre, who was mentioned in the complaint as having raped her, is absconding. According to Police Circle, Baneshwar, a search against him is currently underway.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Tamang used to drop off the victim and her coworkers from the nightclub to their homes at night. On February 3, the victim and four other girls were sent with Tamang to a rented room after completing her shift at 4 o'clock in the morning.
However, the victim alleged that despite dropping off the others, Tamang took her to a hotel while she was intoxicated.
According to the complaint filed by the victim at Police Circle in New Baneshwar, she was taken to the room of Sailungeswori guest house and hotel in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-8, Gothatar and was raped by the driver Tamang and Shrestha.
"When I reached home at 4PM, all the clothes on my body were taken off. After that, I went to the club where I work and informed the club owner and lodged a complaint," said the victim.
Police had filed a case against both the accused in the court for the offense under section 210 of the National Civil Code.
Police also attached the CCTV footage of the time he went to the hotel and the health check-up report as evidence.
